Las clases de Feynman

La descubrí por primera vez en la biblioteca de la UNET, por allá en 1999. Era una colección llamada "Feynman Lectures On Physics" (clases de física de Feynman) en tres tomos. En la introducción (me gusta leer los prólogos, introducciones y agradecimientos de los libros cuando éstos los tienen), el autor decía que se trataba de una recopilación de clases dictadas por él durante un curso de dos años en Caltech a principios de los años 60, adaptadas, por supuesto, para ser presentadas en forma de libro. También decía que tal vez la forma en la que se había concebido aquel curso no había sido muy exitosa... "La instrucción tiene raramente gran eficacia, excepto en aquellas mentes abiertas, donde es casi supérflua", citaba él mismo a Gibbon refiriéndose a los alumnos que realmente, creía, habían disfrutado y aprovechado sus clases durante esos dos años. ¡Qué gran descubrimiento! Gracias a él conté con las agradables presentaciones de Feynman para poder sentir fascinació...

Hecho en Socialismo

Cuando vi por primera vez una valla de esta campaña publicitaria del gobierno de Hugo Chávez en la autopista Prados del Este en Caracas, me dije: mi próximo post se llamará "Hecho en socialismo" y eso quedó registrado en un Tweet . Fue el 31 de julio de 2010. El hecho de que la portada de la edición del periódico Tal Cual del domingo 8 de agosto de 2010 trajera como elemento principal la mismísima frase "Hecho en socialismo" y una caricatura de Rafael Ramírez , como especie de " Tío Sam " socialista en la portada, me dio a entender que en su interior conseguiría un artículo con ese título. Y en efecto así fue: un artículo de Elizabeth Fuentes (está en la red y es este ). Afortunadamente el post que están leyendo (y que conservará el nombre que originalmente tenía pensado para él) tiene un espíritu un poco diferente al del artículo de Elizabeth Fuentes, cuya mención sólo pretende ser una introducción, sobre todo por esa imagen del Tío Sam Socialista, nuest...
